The current rating of 40% may lead you to believe that this is not a classic movie to compare with any other classic movie... this is not the case however and better reflects our misunderstanding of its core theme... the surreal experiences of David (Tom Cruise).
During David and Sophia's first encounter Sophia (Penélope Cruz) replies to David in reference to David's girlfriend Julie (Cameron Diaz) "... I think she's the sadest girl to ever hold a Martini." This is only one of many memorable lines which build into a convincing portrayal of birth, life, death and beyond.
Brian (Jason Lee) provides a truely exceptional performance as David's best and possibly only true friend whilst possibly watching his "dream girl" fall in love with David... the "Bitter Sweet" speach is unforgettable.
Something truely amazing occurred in the making of this film and it is one of the few films in which not a single performance is not worthy of critical acclaim.
This film ranks as one of the most complete considerations of the surreal ever to make it to our screens and one of the greatest movies ever... truely a MUST SEE!
