Review of Van Helsing (2004) by Breeyon B — 26 Feb 2013
Bland, over long adventure that uses three too many Universal creatures when they should have been kept for sequels. Shallow, but cool characters and decent special effects cannot compensate for lacklustre writing and dull, soulless action.
Director Stephen Sommers should have stuck with The Mummy while stars Jackman and Beckinsale ooze sex appeal, but have both done better work and lack chemistry.
