Review of Vampire's Kiss (1989) by Cody C — 29 Oct 2012
Let me say, I thoroughly enjoyed Vampire's Kiss. For anybody that's already seen it, Nicolas Cage makes the movie with his over-the-top acting, pretentious voice, and weird mannerisms. Vampire's Kiss is a dark comedy about a man's downward spiral into absolute insanity.
Don't get me wrong, this is a strangely hilarious movie, but it's strangely hilarious in a good way. Vampire's Kiss gave me just as many laughs and chuckles as any other top-rated comedy, if not more.
That said, this movie may rub some people the wrong way with just the sheer weirdness of Nicolas Cage's performance. But for the majority, Nicolas Cage is the reason this movie is a semi-cult classic.
If only Nicolas Cage had more roles like this one...
