Review of Vampire in Brooklyn (1995) by Matthew L — 18 Feb 2008
Pretty much a throwaway Eddie Murphy-Angela Bassett vehicle in which vaguely Caribbean Murphy plays a vampire seeking to resurrect his brood in the BK. There's something of value here in the sense that Murphy represents the dying vampire race, and there are black-white racial tensions sprinkled in the film, all of which are meant for more of a humorous reaction than critical thought.
Pass.
