I found this movie really funny. It's so cheezy that it's charming. This is perhaps the last movie I can remember Eddie Murphy being funny (aside from the Shrek movies.) Vampire in Brooklyn does not work as a horror at all.

It tries to, but it doesn't. As a comedy on the other hand it really is fun, put a nice new perspective on an over done genre. Kind of in the spirit of Blacula, just better. Overall: Vampire in Brooklyn is a an enjoyable movie if you don't take it seriously and are willing to ignore the mountain of mistakes it makes, they are minor and if taken in good humor also easy to ignore.

Just don't expect a horror from this movie.
