Review of Valmont (1989) by Scott R — 24 Mar 2013

It barely captured the spirit of vengeance. The confusion of accents and poor directing took away from the magnificent scenery and costumes presenting a more lighthearted version of retribution. It was not dark and brooding, but merely straight forward revenge. Firth was strong, and Bening was alright, but I did not feel they went well together. It also could have easily not been rated R, and could have been edited down to a much shorter versions.

Dangerous Liasions was much better.
