Back in the eighties, and under the influence of friends, the consensus was that Tom Cruise had to be disliked because of his status as a heart throb.

Then, he began to prove himself as a good actor, and starred in many films that I enjoyed. Valkyrie has a great script that holds attention from beginning to end. Overlook that many British actors are playing Germans.
