Review of Valkyrie (2008) by Paul L — 01 May 2014
Based on actual events, Tom Cruise (as Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg) brings to the screen a tight thriller based on the people and events leading up to the near-successful attempt (there were dozens) to assassinate Adolf Hitler and execute a coup of Nazi Germany's government, in the hopes of preventing the destruction of Europe.
The attention to detail is top-notch, and although there are some slow moments, the storyline itself should be enough to hold your interest.
