Review of Valhalla Rising (2009) by Jeff H — 07 Dec 2010

First of I want to say Mads Mikkelsen is slowly becoming one of my favorite characters! Being in Casino Royale (le chiffe) and Clash of the Titans this guy is really starting to make some waves. Now this movie is not your typical Viking thrasher movie as you might expect.

This is a very cerebral and visual movie about the struggle of humanity and has some great visual and mind boggling imagery. If you don't like movies that make you think don't watch this one! It will leave you wondering about life yourself.

Mads character is a prisoner that is brutal and escapes. While trying to return to his homeland he ends up with a group of vikings and off course to a mysterious land where invisible force starts to pick off his party 1 by 1.

A very interesting movie to say the least.
