Review of Valhalla Rising (2009) by Michael H — 11 Mar 2012
Visually striking and deeply rooted, Valhalla Rising tells the story of an escaped savage and his trek across the arid land with a young boy in tow. The lack of dialogue forces the film to be very visually heavy, and the cinematography holds strong from beginning to end.
Despite the gruesome reality depicted in the film, Valhalla Rising is able to capture the viewer's attention with leading man Mads Mikkelsen as well as the extremely realistic world of 1000 AD.
