Its story feels overly long, it runs way too fast and also lacks depth and emotion at times. Also, some actors portray deadpan performances and Cara Delevigne's outstanding parts always outshine those of Dane DeHaan's.
However, a vast universe worth of exploring and breathtaking visual style help "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" to overcome most of its flaws in an imperfect yet engaging and different sci-fi film.
