Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by Greg S — 11 Aug 2017

I thought it was a fun movie, I enjoyed the interplay between the two leads and I found the use of the visual effects to be stunning at times. Rihanna's dance routine was worth the price of admission.

Cara Delevingne was delightfully sullen, and Dane DeHaan was able to pull off the goofy but competent Valerian. I'm not sure what the problems were with the narrative, it seemed to me like straightfoward sci-fi fare.

I thought this movie was superior to the Fifth Element, Besson's previous sci-fi adventure.
