Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by Mnsr — 01 Aug 2017
For me the Critics and the rating situation for this truely fantastic Sci-Fi-Movie are absolutely not understandable. It seems to me the similar situation, we have with "The fifth element": far too bad reviews from the US-dominated Critics, while the users give it the rating it deserves.
I enjoyed that Sci-Fi Movie like no other the last 3 Years. its fresh, fantastic, visually stunning, full of new ideas, without any boring second. It has a nice portion of Humor, which the most other SciFi Movies lack. Its over and you like to watch it again, immediately. What a beautifull trip, with the special spice, that it seems just Luc Besson can deliver. Its, apart from the 3D-effects, imho on one quality level with Avatar, maybee it got little more fantasy and a lot more humor. Of course the two main characters are a matter of personal taste, I liked them. The Story is good enough to carry and put together all the happening.
This film is pure Entertainment and best Popcorn-Cinema.
