Valerian is the Sci-fi movie that can restore faith in the genre to one and all as recompense for the last few years of sci-fi re-hashes. <3.
Dope movie, 23/10..... Anyone who says otherwise lies.
The ending was a bit predictable, but it got there in beautiful style.
It reminded me of Krull! No need for over the top sci-fi tech discussion and overly imposing detail and fleshing out plots. It just goes straight at the points and makes the viewer try and keep up with the insanity in front of them.
It was a delightful escape from the normal Sci-Fi genre over the last few years where flicks have been trying to justify their sci-fi technology as a plausible way too much! It has been taking immersion from viewers who just want to take a break from the nerd data fetishists and kick back, drink their coke and be amazed at the beautiful possibilities.
Thank you, Luc Besson. For simply just letting me do what I have been wanting to do from a Sci-fi movie for a long time.... Sit back and just be entertained & wowed without the cheeze.
