Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by Devon W — 23 Jul 2017
If the goal was a cross between Avatar & Fifth Element starring a Keanu Reeves wannabe sporting a health dose of misogyny, they knocked this out of the park. If you're hoping for this to be on the level of Star Wars, Star Trek, or Battlestar Galactica you'll leave disappointed and perhaps even a bit miffed at how much was "borrowed" from those franchises.
It's a Sci-Fi popcorn flick, and if you leave it at that it's a good movie for a date night or family movie night with kids, or dates, that are less demanding of their Sci-Fi universes.
