Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by Aman A — 05 Aug 2017
I quite enjoyed this movie. It had its cliches with small creatures mimicking what the audience should feel and good is colourful while bad is black/dark. But it also had heart, fun and constant engagement.
The world was somehow believable in its own quirky sense and the opening scene of the movie made it more so. There wasn't too much dwelling on characters back stories. Comic relief was also not bad.
But if it comes to graphics, is anything impressive anymore? I mean is green screen really awe-inducing or jaw-dropping? It is all just an imagination and a painting, not really any crazy ass set or camera work.
So no marks on that.
