Review of Vacancy (2007) by Kc P — 07 Mar 2009
Does anyone in America ask for directions from a gas station employee any more? Based on the movies, they shouldn't.
'Vacancy' boasts what most horror movies can't: the presence of actual name actors, here in the persons of Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale. Is there anyone more likable than Luke Wilson (or his brother Owen)? He makes an ideal choice for the lead for this kind of movie as we are invested in the character's fate. I liked the opening titles & music too, promising signs of above-average quality to follow.
The final third is a little routine but overall an above-average hair-raiser.
