Review of Vacancy (1999) by Gerron K — 16 Jul 2010
Vacancy is a lean, effective horror movie, that wastes no time in getting into the action and once the horror and action is played out it doesn't overstay its welcome. It ends at the perfect spot and doesn't waste time with an epilogue. The movie is only 82 minutes, which is what most horror thrillers running length should be around. The performances are all good enough.
The meat of the film occurs from 30minutes to the final 80 minutes, and it is fast-paced andrelentless.
Simply put, the movie is a quick escapade into some brutal, harrowing thrills and it works superbly.
