Review of V/H/S/2 (2013) by Kyle L — 18 Oct 2013
Surprise, Surprise. V/H/S/2 is not only another impressive Found Footage film but it is also a huge improvement over its terrible and over hyped predecessor. V/H/S/2 mainly deals with the same plot style of the first movie where this time two people are investigating the disappearance of a teenager where they found a video of him telling them to play each tape in its correct sequence.
The first segment is about a man who gets a robotic eye after a terrible car accident where soon he gets haunted by a group of spirits after he received the eye. The second Segment is about a biker who is biking in the woods until he turns into a blood thirsty zombie after he gets bitten by a zombie in the woods.
The third segment is about a crew investigating an Indonesian cult until they soon learn that the cult is going to kill them as well and the fourth segment is about a group of kids who are attacked by some Aliens during a slumber party.
To be honest I love this movie and it is way better than the first V/H/S it is even five times better than the first film and it is not over hyped at all unlike the first movie it is completely over hyped that tries way too hard to be original but ends up failing.
What I like about V/H/S/2 is that the whole film has a lot of improvements over the first movie in terms of quality and entertainment and I just love how this movie beat the first V/H/S thanks to a clever script, writing and directing from a group of new directors.
The other things I like about this movie is that the film is more suspenceful and scarier than the first V/H/S its even bloodier as well than the first V/H/S plus the segments are way better in this movie than in the first film and the segments seriously have a lot of improvements than before.
I managed to get a kick start with the first segment and the first segment is incredibly full of impressive scares and suspense as well. The second segment by Blair Witch master Eduardo Sanchez is a fantastic zombie segment shot in a Point of View(POV)style which ads up the fun plus it is also full of nasty graphic violence and gore.
Jason Eisner's episode is an incredible alien segment that is full of nail biting tension and an intense dog kill sequence. But out of all the four segments the third segment is by far the best out of all the four segments about an Indonesian cult killing people for the arrival of the beast from hell and the pacing is outstanding in that segment.
It starts out creepy and tense first then in the next half it becomes a super gory, violent and gruesome thrill ride and that segment has loads of gore and blood and I could say that it is also the goriest segment next to the second segment and the best scene in that segment is where the Indonesian cult groups commits suicide in a gruesome and intense way the segments are fantastic so far in this film.
Now the acting is great all of the casts did a fantastic job with their performances on each segment and I overall love the acting of the casts in this film. All of the directors did a fantastic job with their work on this film than what the other directors did for the first movie especially Adam Wingard who created such a marvelous and fantastic segment for this film even Eduardo Sanchez did a neat and fantastic job with his work on his segment for this film so far.
Overall V/H/S/2 is a fantastic and impressive follow up to the first V/H/S and it is seriously a huge improvement over the first movie. This film gets an 11/10 what a great follow up please bring up a V/H/S/3.
