The shorts in "VHS 2" are better than the ones in the original, but it still lacks in cohesion & connectivity. There's also some really odd editing and camera angle choices that don't seem to match the 'found footage idea'.
So with those two complaints the film still feels like the first, in that it's got a few scares but is marred by lazy hipster filmmakers who don't care about creating something with a lasting universe.
