Review of V/H/S/2 (2013) by D.j. N — 01 Dec 2013
By far the most disturbing movie I've ever seen. The film is comprised of 4 different short films as well as a wraparound story that acts as background music if you will for the movie. The first and last of these short films provide some solid scares, the second gives an interesting take on the zombie genre, and the third short film by Gareth Evans (of The Raid fame) is brilliantly disturbing and unsettling.
The wraparound story, being sort of a short in itself is definitely the weakest of the bunch, but not bad enough as to ruin the movie. If you have a weak stomach and/or just do not like blood and gore, than this movie is not for you, as it can be very hard to keep watching at times.
If anything, this movie is another showcase for Gareth Evans' talents. His will no doubt be the one that you will remember the most. VHS 2 is a very well made assortment of short films, and even if it is not enjoyed, it can still be appreciated for it's craft.
