Review of Ushpizin (2004) by Leanne S — 13 Jan 2008
Alternating between scenes of tragedy and comedy, this movie depicts the typical patterns of tribulation and hope, trial and blessing in the lives of a faithful Jewish couple as they celebrate a Jewish holiday.
Moshe clings strongly to his new-found faith even when bad circumstances threaten his achievements in transforming his personal character. Some scenes were hilarious. Other scenes made me sympathize very strongly with Moshe's pain.
I hope I never have guests half as horrible as Moshe's and Malli's!
