Review of Ushpizin (2004) by Yasmin U — 02 Mar 2008
It's a little too sugary-sweet for my taste (the ending feels rushed and predictable and corny), but it was fun to watch Moshe and Mali construe events as either miracles or omens or disasters. There are a few affective moments, but in the end, the movie just feels more treacly than anything else.
