Review of Us (2019) by Egoborder — 25 Mar 2019
This movie reminds me a lot of the movies of the 80s: wild premise with very good execution. But unlike many movies from that era, the conclusion isn't wrapped up nicely for the audience. Instead it leaves the audience hanging with some questions. And I think this will prove divisive. Personally I found it more haunting than if everything had been explained. But likely some people will not enjoy this and feel like they were teased all along. It really is a story that's begging the viewer to interpret it.
I highly recommend you take a chance on this film. Jordan Peele has really surprised me as a director of horror, but as a fan of the genre I couldn't be happier with his work.
