While deep in meaning and fantastically acted (particularly by Nyong'o as both Adelaide and her double, Red) with a fantastic first two acts, Us ends up being just a good (not great) sophomore effort by Peele.

I liked the perspective of inequality taken from the film, specifically economic and social class inequality, and some truly thrilling moments. However, the film's third act seems to detour leaving a lot more questions than answers with a lot of unset circumstances that could have been done more eloquently.

In addition, the twist was relatively predictable based on the first act setup. Overall, this is a fine sophomore effort from Peele, but doesn't capture the success he found in Get Out. I'm fascinated to see if Peele will break into new genres in the future or end up being typecast as this social horror director.
