Review of Us (2019) by Quietlionmusic — 25 Mar 2019

The movie was entertaining, but did not live up to the massive hype it received. I think Get Out was much better. I had fun, the jokes were funny, the acting was on par but major plot holes and plausibility problems ruined my suspension of disbelief.

Sometimes I felt as though they were trying a bit too hard to try and be scary or creepy, but it ended up just falling flat. I found many of the plot points predictable, and felt the film didn't want to take enough risks at the expense of upsetting the audience.

I would have liked to see some plot points fleshed out more. I had fun, but this won't be a film I'm thinking about after seeing it.
