One must ask why... If you are going to make a sequel to Urban Legend wouldn't you like to connect the films a little more than just by having a minor character show up in another minor role? This is almost a sequel in name only.

It has nothing to do with the original. They do start off emulating Urban Legends in the kills but that last about 15 minutes. Just call the film Final Cut...Urban Legend wasnt that much of a classic that adding it's title to a film will increase business THAT much.

Moving on...this is even more of a throwback to old slashers than the original. The movie is pure cliche and that isn't a good thing. Morrison is good in the lead and Lawrence is suprisingly un-awful here.

Hart Bochner is ok as well. Seeing Eva Mendes here is odd and Anthony Anderson provides some passing chuckles. Also the first kill is really well done and had the movie followed in that path it would have been a different story.

..but it didnt and we are left with a sorry entry in the slasher genre. The killer in this one wears a fenching mask (like the forgotten slasher in Graduation Day!) for reasons unknown and delivers the dumbest motive I've seen in awhile.

The film school in this film is a wee bit unrealistic...and apparently they just make movies here and dont have classes...and the bit at the very end will eighter make you role your eyes or elicit a chuckle and make you long for a film not quite as bad.

..I didn't mind. This one lost me well before the end credits.
