Review of Urban Justice (2007) by Josh D — 23 Nov 2007
The rave going on with this film? ehh...I thought this film was just ok...just so-so at Seagal's best but with all of those great reviews doesn't really work for me.
It was nice to see old-school Seagal in this one but I hated the story and the dialogue. They tried to make one-liners funny but it doesn't work that well especially with too much f bombs which is unnecessary since it doesn't add the grittiness of the film's tone. If they throw it off then I would have liked it a bit more but if they change the dialogue with lot of f bombs to make it to have funny one-liners like in The Last Boy Scout then it would have worked MUCH BETTER.
This film doesn't really do it for me...I still vote Into the Sun as the best Seagal's DTV film. This one comes close in 2nd since it was nice to see Seagal returning to his old style from earlier films.
In addition to this...I hated the film's pacing. I thought it was boring at times.
