Review of Urban Justice (2007) by Thomas P — 14 Jul 2008
Odd movie, but a return to form for Seagal. Packed with unintentional hilarity:
1. Seagal's entrance, undre a tree at afuneral, in a suit that barely fits him. He looks like an over-inflated waxwork of the real seagal.
2. the lighting is so bad it has to be (not) seen to be beilieved - a lot of the film takes place at night, and I really don't know what happened in these scenes.
3. seagals accent is a triumph.
4. seagal is actually really hard in the movie - you can believe he would rip your throat out.
5. Eddie griffin turns in a career best performance - I am not joking, he plays against type.
6. it is so basic in plotting.
7. there is incredibly bad back projection.
8. it features the slowest car chase ever.
9. danny trejo is in there chewing scenery with seagal. A nust for afficianados.
10. it features he word 'justice' in the title. Just like the classic 'Out for Justice'.
All in all, great stuff.
