Review of Up in the Air (2009) by Jasen L — 02 Sep 2012
Something about the title "Up in The Air" said to me "hang on and rent this, it can wait". Let me now say, the title still blows but I am very glad I went to see this in the theater and will probably see it a second time. Here's what I expected: a movie about a guy who travels a lot by plane and the zany people and scenarios along the way, after all it's called "Up in The Air".
Here's what I got. George Clooney is at his best and that is "Clooney" perfected, all the things you like about him minus the other Oceans 11. You'll feel like you've seen this dramedy before but it doesn't ever play out like you remember and that's what I dig about it. Up in the Air is about life on the road but it's also about life, purpose and identity, It acknowledges every angle fairly and honestly and in the end there are no answers but you'll be thoroughly entertained.
