Just as you're about to dose off Anna Kendrick's character arrives and saves us from watching George Clooney and Vera Farmiga roofie us with their travel tales. Their relationship is not believable or alluring.
Kendrick's relationship, however, with the boyfriend whose dumped her is very compelling, even though we never meet him. The acting is great all around, but Kendrick got the best part and she delivers.
The plot line between George and Vera is one of those "so what" stories. Kendrick's plot line makes you root for her at the end of the movie, even though we've gone back to watching George doing something boring.
