Review of Up in the Air (2009) by Mark W — 25 Feb 2016
"Would you like the can sir?" one of two great lines that resonate form this movie...the other being uttered from Anna Kendrick's character "I type with purpose." This movie resonates with so many who day after day continue to define there lives by what they do for a career, as a man, for most of the movie you find your self looking up to Mr.
Bingham....he has it all, nice suits no commitments, public speaking engagements and a powerful job that requires him to terminate other people's careers. Being the professional that he is, he is able to spin these terminations into an up lifting moment.
..about chasing your dreams and doing what matters. The Irony of it all is when you do this sometimes you realize maybe it was worth sheltering your self and not opening up as we see the heartbreak that Ryan faces.
Just like the spin that Mr. Bingham puts on loss as do I put on this movie....its a film about relationships...about how one day you can wake up and have your miles or your points on your credit card but do you have anybody to come home to?
