Review of Up (2009) by Luca Maria M — 01 Jan 2016
Pixar gave us many great titles, in their amazing career, but to me "Up" is the greatest of them all. Even without the starting sequence, let's just focus on Carl's character. He is not an animated cartoon character.
He's the old grumpy man living next door. He is human and real. And Russell is a lovely little kid. But let's put them too apart. Let's focus on what this story talks about: death , depression, mourning elaboration and the truest, deepest meaning of love.
You must have courage to talk about that in a cartoon, you must be Pixar to be able to do that in such a delicate and funny way.
