Review of Up (2009) by Zubair P — 29 Feb 2016
The house was never Ellie, Ellie was always the poignant relationship that her and Carl shared. If any movie can talk about letting go and finding hope again in the moment, it's Up. Pixar doesn't shy away from deep themes that some other studios would be afraid of.
Although its a romp of lighthearted laughs and bountiful colour, its not afraid to struck a cord in heartstrings. It tells its story brilliantly without going off the deep end with presenting its themes.
From the silent magic of the opening scenes, to the loud boisterous dialogue of the story, to the end scene were it pans away leaving you with dewy eyes and a heart filled, Up will grab you up and take you for a ride.
