From the makers of Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles comes this fantastic film; UP! Asner shines as Carl Fredrickson, a widowed balloon selling septengenuian who has to find a new outlook on life after the dealth of his wife. He does so with a retriever, a giant bird, and a Wilderness Explorer scout named Russell in toe. Russell slowly opens his heart and melts his soul.

As a child, Carl fell in love with a red headed little Ellie. Ellie sweeps Carl off of his feet as they both loved adventurer Charles Muntz and his Spirit of Adventure.

As adults, the married Carl and Ellie set off to make it to Paradise Falls; the location of Muntz's final adventure. Carl promised Ellie that they would take a vacation to 'the falls' someday, after the couple found they could not have children. When Ellie, now elderly, passes without making it to the falls, Carl is left empty, crushed, and feeling like a failure. This leaves Fredrickson bitter and grumpy.

After a court orders Carl to leave his home, which to Carl represents the late Ellie, he snaps into action to save his beloved home wrapped in memories.

Carl decides to attach thousands of balloons to his home and set sail for Paradise Falls. Unexpectantly, Carl gets a knock on the door at 4000 feet... Russell, trying to earn his Assisting the Elderly Badge.

The two reach the falls and experence their own adventure: one enwrapped with fun, soul searching, and danger. Along the way they aquire a bird hunting yet lovable retriever named Dug and the bird too! Russel names the bird Keven, although they later find that Kevin is a girl!

This movie doesn't deserve 5 stars... it deserves 10. One of the finest films that I've had the honor to watch in my lifetime. My absolute favorite! The culmination of Producer John Lasseter, Director Pete Docter, and Composer Michael Giacchino creates lightening in the bottle. I highly recomend this, my favorite flick... Disney/Pixar's Up.
