Funny and sweet. Russell freely expresses his feelings, thoughts and frears but it brave and optimistic. Carl is closed off , sad and irritable. Both find more adventure than they intended . They also become unlikely but devoted friends .
Carl sets out to honor Ellie's memory by traveling to her dream place but through helping Russell and their animal pals he pays Ellie the greatest tribute .
