Review of Untraceable (2008) by Nerio Q — 22 May 2009
With premisses as good as in "Se7en" and "Saw", this one had huge potential to be a great modern thriller about computer technology and human sacrifice. The latest addition to the Die Hard-series had a similar ambition, but was only moderately successful.
"Untraceable" has some exciting scenes, but unfortunately it's confusing, unrealistic, flawed and cliché-filled. What could've been so good turned out to be almost unbearable. The character development was so bad that I just sat waiting for the killing to begin, feeling excited over which method he would use next.
Come to think of it, perhaps that says more about me than the movie.
