Review of Unsane (2018) by Richard S — 08 Dec 2018
I've never really rated Steven Soderbergh as a director but the trailor to this one caught my attention and what a film. It is probably one of the most unsettling and tense movies I have ever seen. Claire Foy is superb in the lead role, she plays a woman recently moved over 400 miles to escape the attentions of a stalker but she is still struggling with day to day life, leading a solitary existance, trusting no one and imagining she can see her stalker everywhere she looks. She eventually seeks psychological help with leads to her being committed to a hospital for evaluation for 7 days. However, while in the hospital she sees her stalker on the staff role, everyone assures her the person who works for the hospital is not her stalker. She is either losing her mind or her stalker has found her.
It's filmed like a b-movie but I thought it was genius level film making.
