Review of Unplanned (2019) by Messy434 — 31 Mar 2019
There isn't any "propaganda" in the film, and at the very least the film "Unplanned" exposes the scientific facts surrounding the gruesomeness of the abortion procedure and counter the deliberate lies, statistical fabrications and Orwellian propagandizing which the abortion industry pushed to help secure a favorable Supreme Court result in the 1973 Roe v.
Wade decision, and continues to push in this era. Even Dr. Bernard Nathanson (the late former NY City abortionist and one of the founders of NARAL) and the late Norma McCorvey ("the real "Jane Roe" who also turned to support the Pro-Life cause) revealed, the abortion lobby made up statistics and created dubious "facts" to push their agenda, justifying it at the time that "the end justified the means.
" Like the recent "Gosnell" film, the script in "Unplanned" takes factually accurate information. Abby Johnson's real-life professional experience with corporate Planned Parenthood pulls away the curtain to expose the ugly truths about what occurs in an actual abortion, and presents it.
...something Planned Parenthood and the political left are loathe to face. In any other area of surgical medicine, a physician or "health care provider" would be sued for malpractice for failure to get a patient's fully-informed consent.
In the abortion realm, obfuscating the facts about what occurs to the baby in utero (as well as soft-pedaling the risks on the mother-patient) the willful lack of full and relevant disclosure is celebrated AND for purely political purposes, protected by overreaching judicial legislating.
As for the snide remark by one of the reviewers which contrasts Planned Parenthood's non-profit status versus the film producers' lack of such, the recent exposure of Planned Parenthood's illegal and heinous sales of baby body parts for profit belie its "not-for-profit" claim.
The factual information provided concerning the scientific discoveries since Roe v. Wade was handed down (evidence of heartbeat at very early stage, the infant's capability of sensing pain, the evidence of a brainwave, etc.
) clearly counters the abortion industry's narrative and the radical leftist push to expand abortion even late into pregnancy and, as demonstrated by the statements of recent politicians and liberal-leftist opposition to passage of "born alive" protections for babies who survive a late-term abortion.
As Justice Sandra Day O'Connor wrote in a concurring opinion in the 1980's, although O'Connor upheld the Roe precedent, she conceded that as medical procedures to save lives in the womb are developed, and as scientific discoveries which were not available in 1973 shed more information about the factual revelations as to fetal development so as to push fetal viability earlier in pregnancy, Roe is ".
...on a collision course with itself." And as renowned pediatrician scientist / geneticist Jerome Lejune lamented in his opposition to abortion, the entire history of obstetric medicine recognized that the doctor has an equal obligation to the welfare of TWO PATIENTS, the mother AND the baby.
The efforts by the radical left to dehumanize the in-utero human being has created an impression in the culture of current popular error that the baby is "not a person." But "Unplanned" defies the science-denier errors by exposing the truth about abortion and its destructive results, for both the millions of babies who have been garroted and poisoned to death in the womb, but also the psychological damage inflicted on women who might have otherwise made a different choice if all facts and full disclosures as to long-term consequences and damages had been made prior to hard-selling vulnerable patients.
Organizations like Planned Parenthood can't afford the disinfecting light of the full medical truths about the short-term risks and the negative long-term consequences of abortion.
