Review of Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2010) by Adrien C — 10 Feb 2010
If your in the mood for a good action flick you'll be surprised by this straight-to-video selection. Aside from the first two Universal Soldier pics, I haven't seen the other sequels in the franchise.
Regeneration takes the franchise in an interesting direction with a cold and moody atmospheric tone and mood, gothic locations (shot in an abandoned steel factory in Bulgaria), and MMA inspired fight choreography.
For fans of Van Damme and Lundgren, its an awesome experience to see these two back in great form kicking each others ass. Lundgren has the best moment in movie. Arlovski plays the villain and comes across as the ultimate indestructible badass.
The story centers around Chernobyl and is passable. The actor who plays the mad scientist is a wee bit over the top. This one is worth checking out.
