Review of Universal Soldier: Regeneration (2010) by Nick H — 21 Feb 2010
I remember when the first one came out, I wasn't old enough to see it, so begged my mom to take me and a friend. I was glad she did. It was a fun Van Damme flick. Super soldiers? What 12 year old boy doesn't love that?
Fast forward to a million years later and a lot of sequels totally worthing of ignoring and you get this movie. It was surpsiginly good. Takes a totally different approach, and it was smart in doing so, being that Lundgren and Van Damme are like 50. I was surprised how smart the approach to the plot was.
Action was good too. Very realisitc and gritty looking.
