As absurdly convoluted as the plot may be... director John Hyams stages some excellent action set pieces, and the bloody violence comes gleefully and plentifully. I was pleasantly surprised by Universal Soldier: Regeneration, which was also directed by John Hyams, and this is equally satisfying.

For my money.. this is a better film than the Expendables 2.
