Review of United 93 (2006) by Tristan M — 27 Apr 2014
I was blown away by how good this movie was, I just had know idea it was going to be as good as it was. I was completely tense thoughout almost the whole movie, even during the chaotic scenes at the air control centers.
There was never a boring moment, so much is happening at once, everyone is panicking, talking fast and freaking out. Most people know about the infamous events of 9/11, the two planes hitting the World Trade Centre and all that.
But like the plane hitting the Pentagon and the bombing of "Building 7", this event of that day is largely unknown to most people. But I think this event stands out as much as the Twin Towers destruction.
The passengers no dought saved hundreds of lives on the groung by their actions of crashing the hijacked plane. The part of the movie after the hijacking was very uneasy, tense and sad, as the passengers cried and said goodbye to loved ones at home as they plotted their attempt to recapture the plane.
I knew about what happened to this plane prior to the movie, and therefore knew what was going to happen, but the movie did such a great job of portraying it it caught me off guard by how intense it was.
I would have done anything myself to try to save that plane if I was in it, and I felt my rage come out as the passengers attacked the terrorists. It ended great too, and it's not at all the usual happily ever after everyone is used too.
I've problably never had more emotions out of any movie than United 93, it was kind of overwhelming. But it was an incredibly well done, sad, movie. It's definatly the best movie about 9/11, and one of my all time favorites.
