Review of United 93 (2006) by Essi P — 10 Sep 2009
A great film about a terrible event. Paul Greengrass uses the same "fly-on-the-wall" filmmaking techniques he employed in the latter two Bourne movies and it works perfectly here. The events unfold with out extra Hollywood fanfare or melodrama.
Watching the air traffic control scenes brought back a lot of the feelings I had that day. They were as confused and shocked as we were watching on the news.
But the scenes on the plane are the best and most effective. They are what make this one of the most disturbing films I have ever seen. By the end I was convulsively weeping.
