Review of United 93 (2006) by Rowan C — 02 Jul 2010

PLEASE READ MY FULL REVIEW CAREFULLY.

On September 11th 2001 four planes were hijacked by 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists. Two planes were crashed into the two World Trade Centers. A third crashed into the Pentagon. A fourth plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. At the end of the attacks, 2,995 people, including the hijackers, were dead. This movie is the story of flight United 93.

Well, I will start out by saying that this film was difficult for me to watch. I admit, this is the third entry in the list of movies that I cried while watching. It was just so powerful. I, like millions of Americans, can tell you exactly where I was when I first heard about the September 11th terrorist attacks. I will say this though, I know for a fact that if the other 3 planes, American Airlines Flight 11, which crashed into the north World Trade Center tower, United Airlines flight 175, which crashed into the south World Trade Center tower, and American Airlines flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon, had known that the hijackers were planning, they would have fought too. but, what one has to realize, is that this had never happened before. No one could have seen this one coming. As the passengers of flight United 93 fought, I rank them among some of the greatest American heroes. I'm sure you all agree.

The film itself was fantastic. Not just the brutal realization of the fact that this movie is based of of horrifying real events. This movie is also incredibly well made. I would highly suggest this film to anyone who hasn't seen it. Particularly Americans who remember this. It is a superb film.

I actually don't feel that it's right to do Trivia Time for this one. It just feels wrong to me.
