Review of Unfaithful (2002) by Joseph E — 24 Jun 2010
Diane Lane is magnificent in this movie. A movie about sexuality that really throbs with eroticism. Decent romantic thriller. Completely par for the course, in fact. The movie doesn't do anything particularly well or poorly - it just kind of exists.
loved it. Unfaithful is a powerful story about passion, desire and trust about a seemingly happy family who appear to have it all until the wife is gradually drawn into a passionate extramarital affair with a handsome young stranger.
Diane Lane is outstanding as Connie who has everything but takes a major risk in cheating on her husband. Her expressions are priceless, especially during the scene on the train where she is reliving her first encounter with the French lover she has been unfaithful with.
Richard Gere has always been sexy, but his character takes a back seat to the young, hot, good-looking and charming character that his wife falls for.
