Review of Underworld: Evolution (2006) by Gus — 21 Jan 2006
If you're not a fan of the genre and walk in with modest expectations, you will not be disappointed. the action, dialogue, and bouncing around is all according to type, with zero innovation and mild excitement.
while the writing is formulaic and the plot forgettable, the film is finely paced and rather kinetic. it moves speedily along. the acting is decent for the genre. one or two of the supporting players stand out above the otherwise banal proceedings.
the director and the editor deserve the only superlatives for setting the film's smooth rhythm.
