If you like the franchise then you'll enjoy this newest show. It quickly explains at the beginning anything you or your movie companion may not know due to not following along however there are some inconsistencies that my friends were having trouble understanding without having seen the previous movies.

..not enough to not enjoy the show. I wasn't a fan of the actor who played Marius and there's a particular scene that you may feel uncomfortable with where a lackey goes down on the woman who's trying to steal the show.

Lots of fun fight scenes tho.
