Review of Underworld (1927) by Scott J — 20 Oct 2011
How? How did no one like this? How did anyone think this was tedious? Well if that's what you thought, then you are underrating one of the best of all times. At least the audience have a brain compared to you guys! It starts off as the vampires and werewolves continuously fight and then a guy named Michael gets caught into the fight.
This causes Lucian the leader of the lycans to turn him into a werewolf/lycan. The vampires get angry and lock Selene played by the hottest chick in the film Kate Beckinsale gets locked up, she breaks out to save Michael but Lucian tells Selene to bite Michael and turn him into a hybrid so that he won't be destroyed and Lucian dies.
In a battle between the arrogant Viktor and Michael, the fight ends with Selene cutting Viktor's head in half and together Selen and Michael escape. The sound effects sounds dark and gothic in a modern way, the action is heart pounding, the story is action-packed with a tragic twist and the film in general is just epic.
Hopefully if you don't stay away from vampires and werewolves, then this is what the future holds for you. Kate Beckinsale is so hot in that leather outfit. Scott Speedman was a great lead actor. Michael Sheen played a great werewolf/lycan named Lucian and Bill Nighy was the biggest baddest villan of them all as Viktor.
If you hate this movie and you hate it in any way, then I feel so sorry for you indeed that you are missing out one of the greatest vampire movies of all times if not one of the greatest modern horror movies of all time.
Underworld gets a 10/10.
