Review of Underwater (2020) by Jamesirish68 — 14 Jan 2020
Kirsten Stewart attracts a load of flack because of her supposed woodenness in the Twilight saga. But as I'm not a teenage girl, I obviously haven't seen any Twilight stuff,so I don't care what Twilight fans think.
So I went along to Underwater without any preconceptions about her.
She’s not wooden here, not by a long shot. She gives a great performance. The entire cast does. There are flaws for sure but overall, it's a very decent horror sci-fi flick. I've seen it described elsewhere as Lovecraftian, which seems apt. The claustrophobia of being on the ocean bottom at 1000 times surface pressure in a tin can death trap is very well portrayed and quite disturbing. Kirsten Stewart is maligned unfairly me thinks just like so many others are overpraised.
